Hello, lovelies!
Yes, it hasn’t been easy these past few weeks for adult game developers. First, we are thrown under the bus by Epic, now Valve can’t make up its mind about whether it wants our games or not. Luckily, there’s always itch.io. Right?
But we must hold strong! They can’t force our hands out of our pants!
If you’re not already subscribed to my weekly newsletter, you can do so here.
Now let’s get into it!
Games too good to talk about 🤫
To celebrate Epic throwing the independent creators on itch.io under the bus during their trial against Apple, those very creators have banded together in a weekend sale. Get 48 naughty games for cheap during the UNSPEAKABLE GAMES SALE! (Emphasis theirs)
If you’re looking for my recommendations, I don’t think you can go wrong with Lucy Got Problems, Crimson Gray, or Give an Imp a Chance!
Work up an appetite for Voronica Cleans House 😋
A surprise hit on itch.io this week has been Voronica Cleans House, a furry visual novel about a giant bunny with a ferocious appetite. The titular Voronica has been tasked to clear a house of “tinies” the only way she knows how: by eating them.
But you are what you eat and this diet has some unexpected side-effects on her body…
As you might have guessed, this game features a number of kinks: giantess, vore, furry, etc. The demo currently features about an hour of gameplay, with the full game including nine victims to torment, and 125 CGs to discover.
Check Voronica Cleans House out now on itch.io!
And in case you think I would exaggerate its popularity, Voronica Cleans House was the top-selling visual novel on itch.io at the time of writing:
Writing Wrap-Up 📖
- Steam still hasn’t decided whether it wants adult content on its platform or not. This time, it banned the adult VR game Holodexxx after three failed submissions. As always, reporter Ana Valens does a really good job here explaining Valve’s double standards when it comes to adult content.
- Ana Valens also wrote a scathing essay about itch.io that I can only agree with. Itch.io may be open and welcoming to NSFW and queer creators now, but they’re still a Silicon Valley startup beholden to investors.
- LewdPixels points out that adult games are just playthings for Apple and Epic. The genre is not taken seriously by either of them unless they want to score cheap political points.
- Speaking of which, LewdPixels turned one year old! Let’s hope for many more years of lewd stories.
- Captain Hardcore is a VR sex simulation sandbox about exploring the galaxy in your spaceship. While the current version is still very limited, its creator hopes to expand the game to an action-adventure experience over time.
- Orc Massage added a new character to their roster: Lady Balloon! This rubbery companion will help you get to grips with the massaging mechanics in this lewd game.
- Blerdy Otome took a look at No Honour Among Thieves. And she liked what she saw in the demo for this LGBT crime-thriller visual novel!
- Blerdy Otome also posted a list of all the Boys Love games you should be playing. BL games are still not my thing, but I appreciate that people are making and enjoying them.
- OnlyFans’ new paperwork policy means big headaches for adult content creators. The platform is refusing to accept the legally mandated and industry-standard forms due to pressure from, you guessed it, payment processors like MasterCard.
- Japan is looking to create criminal liability for the sharing of SFW images of female athletes. An adult site operator was arrested for sharing images taken from publicly available broadcasts accompanied by lewd comments.
